Bernstein Symphonic Dances from West Side Story

One of South America’s most famous exports, the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra is led by its dynamic young conductor, Gustavo Dudamel. The orchestra’s obvious passion, enjoyment and huge talent have garnered acclaim around the world. This programme shows off the young musicians’ spirited playing and includes works by Ginastera, Revueltas and Villa-Lobos in a celebration of Latin American music.

What the critics say:

‘the vitality of this music-making, the rapt faces of these young musicians, render words such as “urgent” and “passionate” utterly inadequate.’
