Web Accessibility
This site is designed to be accessible to the widest possible audience.
- All pictures include 'alt' text if they convey information, so that those using text-only browsers or screen readers do not miss anything significant.
- Text-size is specified in relative terms, to make it easy for users to change it to the size they are most comfortable with; in newer versions of Internet Explorer, go to View > Text Size and simply choose the size which you find most comfortable to read. Other browsers provide similar methods.
- All pages use high contrast to make them easier to read.
- We also provide a text-only version of the site, using larger black text on a white background. This version of the site is automatically updated when the graphical version changes, and is designed to meet all accessibility guidelines of the W3C.
- The site makes use of CSS, JavaScript and tables for presentation purposes, but is designed not to lose any functionality when these technologies are not enabled.
- Care is taken to ensure that all links make sense when read out of context.
