PRESS RELEASE New sponsors sign up for Edinburgh International Festival 2005
Thu 17 Mar 2005
Today the Edinburgh International Festival announced its programme for Festival 2005. Crucial to the continuing success of the Festival is the partnership and support provided by the corporate sector, trusts and foundations which each year make up around 25% of the Festival’s turnover.
In addition to continuing major partnerships, which include Bank of Scotland, IBM, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and Standard Life, the Festival has negotiated deals with four new corporate partners: First ScotRail, BP, Deloitte and MacRoberts Solicitors. In addition, Scottish and Newcastle plc has signed a new three year deal to sponsor the Festival’s Opening Concert.
Nicky Pritchett-Brown, Sponsorship and Development Director, today said ‘The Festival welcomes and greatly appreciates the vision of our supporters. We are delighted that four new partners are working with us on this year’s Festival. Investment in the excellence and uniqueness of the Festival provides real business benefits to all partners, and continues to make the city attractive to a talented workforce and international business investment.’
Brian McMaster, Festival Director commented, ‘Every year hundreds of thousands of people from around the world enjoy the Festival, and our year round programme of education work. In the face of increasing competition we work ever harder to maintain Edinburgh’s profile and unique appeal, and this would not be possible without the support of our many public and private sector supporters. I would like to thank and pay tribute to them all.’
There are still opportunities for corporate collaborations and charitable involvement in Festival 2005. For further information contact Nicky Pritchett-Brown Sponsorship & Development Director on 0131 473 2063 or nicky.pritchett-brown@eif.co.uk
