Blackbird will see the return of Jodhi May, who previously appeared as Nina in Stein’s The Seagull alongside Fiona Shaw in 2003. She is also appearing this Festival in On a Clear Day at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and is about to be on your screens in Stephen Poliakoff’s new drama for BBC Friends and Crocodiles. Her co-star Roger Allam is a familiar face from stage and screen with a career that so far has won him two Olivier Awards, seen him starring opposite Gillian Anderson in the West End, playing baddie to Ian McKellen's panto dame at the Old Vic, and having graced the stages of the RSC in many guises over the last 11 years.
