Cast of Peter Stein’s new production of Shakespeare’s epic Troilus and Cressida announced

The Edinburgh International Festival in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company presents Peter Stein’s first English language Shakespeare production, Troilus and Cressida, for which he has brought together a cast of some of theatre’s most well known and respected actors alongside fresh faces.

Shakespeare’s epic of war, infidelity, politics and double standards, Troilus and Cressida opens at the Edinburgh International Festival on Monday 14 August and runs until Saturday 26 August. It then transfers to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford as part of the RSC’s year long celebration of The Complete Works of Shakespeare.

In the titles roles are two young actors, Edinburgh born Henry Pettigrew making his professional debut as Troilus, and Annabel Scholey, recently seen in Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing on tour nationwide in autumn 2005, in the role of Cressida.

Established actors in the cast include Arthur Cox, Ian Hogg, Paul Jesson, Vincent Regan and David Yelland.
