Both Castle Terrace and Johnston Terrace will be closed all day, with traffic diversions and parking restrictions in place in the whole area. Entrance to the Castle Terrace car park will be by King Stables Road only and it may be busy with people attending the car event. Full details of the parking restrictions, as provided by the Council, are included below.

There will be pedestrian access onto Castle Terrace from the car park – please follow the marked walkway. Please also note that the length of Johnston Terrace may well be busy with spectators for the BTCC event, so leave plenty of time if you wish to walk that way!

Cars and taxis will be able to drop off customers with mobility difficulties in front of the Usher Hall by approaching from the Grindlay Street direction, as the one way restriction on Grindlay Street/Cambridge Street will be rescinded that day. However vehicles will have to turn around to get out again, as there is no entrance or exit via Cambridge Street onto Castle Terrace. We would be grateful therefore if you could avoid using this route unless you need to, as there is likely to be severe congestion between 7.00pm and 8.00pm.

We recommend that you leave plenty of time for your journey and use public transport or taxis if at all possible. There will be on street parking in Kings Stables Road and the Grassmarket, but inevitably the area will be busy.
