- Chekhov's Three Sisters, as realised by the acclaimed Polish director Krystian Lupa, continues at the King’s Theatre at 7.00pm, with a 1pm matinee.
- Long Life, New Riga Theatre's play without words, continues at The Hub at 7.30pm. Tickets are selling fast, but some are still available. The Scotsman said of this production 'the overall impression is vivid beyond words, an impassioned plea from one of Europe's finest young directors...'
- Nederlands Dans Theater begins a three-night run at 7.30pm at The Edinburgh Playhouse. 'Great Festival events surely don’t come much greater than this,' as Scotland on Sunday said.
- Mozart's classic opera Die Zauberflöte opens at 7.15pm at Edinburgh Festival Theatre. The performance is sold out, but as ever 50 Turn Up and Try It tickets will be held for sale at the venue from an hour before the start of the event, for only £10. It is also possible with returns that some additional tickets will become available.
